Description:
PRICE REDUCTION TO GET THIS FINE GUN A NEW HOME!   Make an offer!   This is a pre-1922 12 bore from one of Belgium's finest gun makers.  The quality in this gun is apparent from the photos.  Nice engraving and case coloring. Stock and fore-end are in excellent condition with a hard fine oil finish and excellent checkering. There is a small nick in the ebonite butt plate near the heel.  The color of the walnut is a nice warm honey which these photos do not do justice to (phone camera!) The bores are mint bright and smooth. The 27 1/2" barrels retain most of their original bluing and show only very few minor small scratches and blemishes comensurate with it's age.  The action is crisp and the gun is tight and on face.  According to Griffin and Howe's past Archivist, the lack of "lettre annale" or date letters stamped on the barrel flats indicate that this is pre 1922 and that is the best I have been able to date the gun.  You can see that it features the well known and very strong Greener crossbolt locking device.  The fences have nice leaf scroll work and side clips.on them.  There is a cheek plate for right hand shooters, but the stock has no cast, and I am a lefty, and have found this to be an excellent shouldering gun and it has worked superbly on upland game birds. The original sling swivel lugs are in place on the stock and barrel underside. The gun will be shipped in the  Leg O Mutton case that I cart it around in, and it is sound although not nearly as pretty as the gun!  Do a Neumann search in the GI system and you will see that this one is the least expensive you can buy right now.  That is no way disparaging to the other Neumann's, it just highlights the fact that these are very well made guns!  I am 100% confident that the next owner will be very, very happy they bought this one!
