Description:
Inv. 7094
Enfield No. 4 MK I, Sniper Cal. 303, Ser, 388XX. Dated 1944. Just super condition, and all sniper components are absolutely original including a rare and original Sniper Transit Chest. The rifle has retained about 90-95% of the original factory blue. There is just some slight loss due to sharp edge silvering. There are no rust spots, rub marks or scratches that can be seen. The receiver is marked with the correct "T" and the wrist marking is also correctly stamped "TR". The bolt is also numbered 388XX. The scope bases are properly fastened with 6 pinned screws. The scope mount has the correctly numbered rings, the uppers are, 78 & 79 and and the mount is also numbered  78 & 79**. The finish is at least 95-96%. The scope is stamped, TEL.STG No. 32, OS 2039 A, C++, No. 24920. There is also a red painted "W" for, Winterized. The finish on the scope is about 97-98%. There is some slight edge loss on the brass adjustment knobs and the lens rings from the scope cover. The cross hair and post are perfect and the lenses are crystal clear. The stock is in remarkable shape showing about 95+% of the original lacquer. There are no splits or chips missing and only a few small surface dings. The butt section is numbered 154XX and has the correct Holland & Holland "S 51"sniper assembly code. The forearm serial number is 388XX, matching the receiver. The cheek piece and the "pot metal" butt plate are also correct. The rear sight is still intact and stamped twice with a block S. The bore, like the rest of the rig is outstanding. Mirror bright with razor sharp rifling, not a touch of frost anywhere. It comes with an original transit chest that does have some nicks and dings and some minor repairs, an original oiler kit in the butt and original spike bayonet and hanger.. This set would enhance any collection, be real fun at the range and certainly a great investment. It would be very hard to find a an equal Enfield sniper group at anywhere this price. P.S.There are no surprises when you purchase from us. We Guarantee Satisfaction ....SHIPPED....$5295.
** Be advised that Peter Ladler's book Armorers Perspective indicates that, "only the post war assembled guns had serial numbered mounts".
