Description:
General Specs: Colt, Year 1936, .380 ACP, 1lb 7oz
Serial Number: 121019

The Colt 1908 is a near identical big brother to the Colt 1903 Pocket, both designed by John Browning.  One of Colt’s most successful small semi-auto pistols made from 1908 to 1945, these are finely finished, hand fitted works of art that are never to be seen again.  This fine Colt, sn121019 made in 1936, is a super find in that it retains 98.5% of its original factory nickel finish and excellent walnut grips (a rare combination as most nickel finished Colt 1908 were shipped with Pearl grips).  Most collectors are aware that even a small loss of nickel finish on a vintage Colt shows up as an unattractive finish. This gun has only a few specks of finish loss as shown in the photos.  The Blue Book of Gun Values proclaims that the 1908 in nickel finish gets a 100% added value compared to a similar condition 1908 in blue finish.  That is a sure indication of rarity.  The bore on this gun perfect with no pitting and high shine, the mechanics are superb, and there are no flaws.  Has the original and correct nickel magazine.  What a great looking gun, and a joy to shoot with its full steel frame and nice weight.  If you want to introduce a new shooter to a larger caliber than a .22LR, a .380 that has some weight helps tame the bite until they become accustomed to the more noticeable recoil of the centerfire cartridges.  This gun won’t last long, so don’t hesitate or she will be gone!  Thanks for looking.
