Description:
This is a nice representative example of the main battle rifle of Nazi Germany during World War 2, the Mauser K98. This particular rifle was made in 1944 by the Waffen Werke Brunn firm, whose wartime code was "dou." when this rifle was built. The rifle contains a mixture of original wartime production parts, with the receiver, barrel, rear sight, and both bands being the only numbered matching parts. It appears to have been put into military service after World War 2 with another country as the stock has been numbered and the wrist has been repaired with a thru-bolt, but all of the German markings and Waffenamts are intact. All of the finish on this gun is original and has a great combat-used look to it, and the bore is in very good condition with nice strong rifling. The bottom of the barrel is import marked (close-up picture provided). All of the controls on this K98 are in perfect working order and the action locks up nice and tight. We have no doubt that it would make an excellent shooter in addition to being a great investment. This dou. 44 comes with a vintage German Army style leather sling with the keeper buckle as well. If you have been looking for a WW2 K98 that doesnt cost thousands of dollars this very attractive dou 44 K98 would be an excellent choice.
