1892 Winchester Lever Action Antique in 44-40 made in 1895
According to the NRA Serialization tables this rifle was manufactured in 1895. It has all original parts with all screws in excellent condition and appears untouched except for the end magazine screw that has a burr. The rifling is very good with the bluing on barrel, and cartridge tube at least 75%. Bluing on receiver, bolt, lever and trigger 65%. Action is tight and functions perfectly. Barrel, tube and receiver have minor surface rust in a few places and a few handling scratches. Stock retains at least 80% of the original finish with minor surface scratches and depressions. Forearm is also very good with one small (less than 1/8 inch) chip missing on front left upper side as depicted in photo. All lettering is clear and reads Manufactured by the Winchester Repeating Arms Co. New Haven Connecticut USA with caliber reading .44 WCF. Serial number is 5 digits 96XXX. Please assess your opinion of condition based on photos. This rifle would make a really nice addition to your Winchester collection. Price reduced from $3,500
