Here I present a really nice .69 cailber musket. Original flintlock altered to percussion and armory shortened by 3 inches...no doubt for use in the war.
Lockplate bears "E. WHITNEY" under clearn and deep US insignia, and "NEW HAVEN 1834" behind hammer. Breech plug matching 1834 as well. Remenents of cartouche on left flat. Barrel exibits "A.H. over 'P' in an oval". Buttplate has "US". Barrel band marked "10". Condition on what appears to be an untouched original stock is great. Expected dings and dents but no signs of damage/repairs. Mechanics fine with strong springs. Equipped with leather sling.
Minus the converted lock, this appears to be an original ln every aspect.
