BRITISH Antique FLINTLOCK Musket w KETLAND LOCK
WS&C Marked Barrel with English Proof Marks
Here we present an antique Flintlock Musket, made in England circa 1810. This specimen features a “KETLAND & Co.” and “TOWER” marked lock. The barrel is marked with British proof marks on the left side, as well as “WS&C”, which is a retailer mark. This gun began life as a flintlock, was converted to percussion, and was subsequently converted back to flintlock. The vent is large and threaded where the drum used to be.
The overall condition is good. The iron parts have a dark brown patina. The markings are clear and legible. The stock is in very good shape. The bore is smooth and untouched. The action is strong.
