Caliber 45-70 This is the scarce cadet version of the trapdoor Springfield with the us Springfield 1873 Eagle on the sidelock. This gun shows its age with most the metal being a pleasing antique brown with some blue. Metal is in nice condition. It is equipped with the Buffington rear sight. Nice rifle and a shiny bore with light to moderate pitting and roughness. Overall good condition bore. Wood also is in good condition with numerous dings and scratches etc.
