MODEL 27-2 .357 MAGNUM, #S 230XXX, MADE 1962-63, THAT HAS BEEN CUSOMIZED BY CORRECTLY SHORTENING THE BARREL TO 4 5/8.” I say “correctly” because the crowning of the muzzle is exactly as S&W does with the front of the rib on top of the barrel slightly recessed back from the crown. Re-fitting the ramp so that it looks factory installed is not an easy task and this one was done beautifully. The original grips have been replaced with nicely checkered walnut target Herrett stocks (marked on the inside). This revolver is also fitted with wide target hammer and wide target trigger with serrations. The barrel is pinned and the cylinder chambers are recessed. This example appears to also have had an action job as the trigger pull for both double action and single action is light and crisp. Also appears to have been shot very little if at all as about all the blue remains on the front of the cylinder. Mint, bright bore. This kind of work doesn’t come cheap! This would make an exceptional carry gun or field gun that shows only light edge wear to the original high polish S&W blue.
