Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are sure proud to offer this rarely seen very low production Turnbull Buntline. When USFA closed its doors, Turnbull purchased the remaining stock on hand. A limited quantity of very well finished single actions were produced. This wheel gun is one of a very few produced that paid tribute to Colt's original Buntline. Only about 30 were made in the early days of the first generation. Historical debates still swirl around the dime novel author, Ned Buntline. He is said to have ordered several of these long barreled Colts, giving them away to such heroes of the day such as Wyatt Earp. They had barrels from 10 to 16 inches long, and only 18 have been found in Colt shipping ledgers. To me, the really special ones had the 16 inch barrel and an adjustable sight machined into the top strap. It is like a miniature carbine sight, complete with a sliding ladder sight to compensate for range. Doug Turbull really pulled out the stops on this one. The blue is deep and rich, case color is his specialty, and tops it off with gorgeous walnut one piece grips. Just to make it more interesting, she is chambered in .44 Special and built on a black powder frame. This one is number eleven. This one has never been fired or turned. These wheel guns sold out very quickly, and doubled in value just as quickly. Most have disappeared from sight, but I will ship this one to the highest .
