Description:
General Specs: Parker, Year 1934, 16 Gauge, 7lbs 6oz, Chokes M/F, LOP 14 1/8", DAH 2 1/4", DAC 1 3/8"
Serial Number: 236421

THIS IS ONE OF 7 DHE 16GA. GUNS MADE WITH 30” VENT RIB BARRELS, ONE OF 26 TOTAL PRODUCTION WITH VENTILATED RIB BARRELS WHEN CONSIDERING ALL GRADES OF 16GA. PARKER GUNS.   A circa 1934 Meriden gun, #1 frame, all finishes factory original, all parts original to the gun, with Parker Gun Collectors Association documenting its configuration. The rarity factor in this gun is notable.  Only 1178 DH grade guns with Titanic steel barrels were produced in 16ga., with only 303 having 30” barrels including all rib types.  When considering vent rib guns, only 500 Parker guns of all grades and gauges were produced, and only 26 Parker 16ga. guns with ventilated ribs are known to exist, and only 8 of those have 30” barrels.  Of the 26 16ga. vent rib guns, only 13 are DH grade.  THIS IS A RARE PARKER!  What makes it even more notable, this fine Parker, sn236421 made in 1934, is in beautiful factory original condition, with 99% vivid factory case color and barrel blue, mirror bores, perfect screws and mechanics, superb wood-to-metal fit, matching the PGCA letter in all ways.  The barrels have not been altered with factory bore diameters and chokes. 2 9/16” factory chambers, ejectors that are timed and super-strong, Parker Single Selective Trigger, no dents or pits, some handling marks in the wood, double ivory beads, and a factory NoShoc pad.  The trigger guard blue is all but gone, showing a nice grey finish with no “patina”.  Barrels are tight on face, top lever right of center upon close.  Parker factory Trap Guns came standard with a recoil pad, as noted in “The Parker Story”.  THIS IS A VFI CERTIFIED GUN WITH A 90 DAY MECHANICAL WARRANTY, having been stripped, ultrasonic cleaned, all parts inspected for function, lubricated and reassembled.  This gun weighs 7lbs. 6oz. and points like a dream.  Though configured as a Trap Model, it will be equally at home on the sporting clays course, taking cackling roosters in the Dakotas, sharptail grouse in Montana, blue quail in Texas, chukar in Oregon, dove in Georgia, or ducks in Louisiana using the new non-toxic shot that is now so abundant in small gauges.  Here in Michigan during the dead of winter we have great sport with farm pigeons (delicious white meat breasts!) and crows that are taken at laughable distances on crisp clear mornings.  What a versatile small-bore Parker this is!  Thanks for looking, and don’t hesitate to call.
