Up for sale today is a US Springfield M1903 serial no. 1335209 (1929 production) chambered in caliber .30-06. This excellent original M1903 has outstanding original finish on both metal and wood components. The rifle has a barrel date of “SA 11-29,” a mint bore, a throat erosion reading of 2.5 and a muzzle wear reading of 1.0. Of special note is this rifle’s very early Rock Island stock, which shows numerous overlapping proof and check cartouches from different periods in its long service life. An outstanding, beautiful rifle and an eminently capable shooter as well.
