Description:
This 44-40 Winchester Model 1873 lever action rifle, made in 1883, has a 24-1/2” patinaed octagon barrel mounted with an old aftermarket adjustable rear sight and a blade front sight. The rear sight is missing the elevator. The bore has good rifling. There is deep pitting approximately 3” from the muzzle. The top flat of the barrel is stamped with Winchester’s - Repeating Arms. King’s Improvement – Patented – March 29, 1866. October 16, 1860. The Walnut stock with patinaed butt plate, checkered wrist and forend are attached to the patinaed receiver. Three repaired cracks are seen on the right side of the forend. Both the butt stock and forend have been refinished. The top tang is stamped with Model 1873, the lower tang with serial number 116XXXA. This rifle is in good condition with the exception of usage dents, dings and light to moderate scattered pitting over the butt plate, receiver and the outside of the barrel. The length of pull is 13”, overall length is 43-1/2”, weight is 8.4 lbs. Our stock number is A771. Will ship anywhere in the United States. Buyer pays freight and insurance.
