This is an early ANTIQUE COLT DRAGOON CIVILIAN HOLSTER hand tooled with a beautiful floral design on the main pouch with a roll design on the edges of the skirt. This double loop tooled brown leather holster fits a COLT'S DRAGOON REVOLVER which has an 7 1/2 inch barrel. That makes it a rare find. When you find one of these holsters they often have a piece of old cowboy a bandana stuffed in the toe to accommodate a shorter barrel. Very few such holsters survive intact because they were often cut down. I have carefully added a leather backing to the skirt to keep the loops from tearing out, it is now stable and can be handled and displayed. You could hunt a lifetime and never find one of these civilian holsters for your antique Dragoon. Unfortunately for me I do not have a Dragoon to fit it.
