Description:
Up for your consideration is an A.H. Sterlingworth Fox. This gun was produced between 1912-1916 and is in good condition for its age. Mechanically, as a shooter the gun is flawless with all mechanical functions working perfectly. Lockup is very tight on this old double and firing pins, triggers, safety, and extractors all work flawlessly. The overall finish of the gun is fair with a lot of the barrel blue turned to patina with large areas that are absent of blue with some slight pitting. The receiver is in fair conidtion with the same patina but the water table does still retain 30% original case color. The stock is all original and all serial numbers match including barrels and fore end. Checkering is faded with some sharp edges still present but the gun was clearly carried quite a bit but hardly shot. The stock has a lot of small dings and scratches on it, with some discoloring and dark sports. The bores are in very good shape with shiny clean walls, and a small, very light area of pitting on the right barrel. In any condition these guns are very collectable and this being an Ansley is one of the most collectable configurations there is.
