Description:
Winchester Model 1876 Lever Action Sporting Rifle .45-60. The seriaL number of this example is 45647 placing date of manufacture in 1883-84. Way above average condition, overall very good with special order "Single Set Trigger" and 28 inch Barrel. The bore is very good with shine from breech to muzzle. The rifling is strong and deep with a few spots of scattered blemishes. I would rate the bore an 8.5 on a 1 to 10 scale. The receiver has retained 20-25% of the original factory blue mostly in protected areas. The action is tight, smooth and mechanically perfect. The set trigger will need its mechanics cleaned,adjusted and a retaining pin that is missing replaced. The brass follower is uncleaned with a very nice mustard marble patina. Caliber markings on the follower are crisp and clear. The blueing on the barrel flats are present in protected areas. A very well cared for Special Order Rifle that will Letter with the Cody Museum!
