Description:
Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are over the top proud to offer this stunning example of Winchester's most slender lever gun, the model 1892. This one is decked out in deluxe trim, with gorgeous figured walnut, checkering, and a capped pistol grip. Made in the year of our Lord 1907, she looks great for being 112 years old. There are minor handling marks, but the blue is generally rich and deep, thinning at edges. The wood is proud to the steel, and the checkering is fairly sharp. The action is crisp, smooth, and works as designed, including the half cock safety. She is chambered in 25-20 WCF, and the bore of the 24 inch octagonal barrel also is good. There is plenty of shine and strong rifling. The stampings are also strong and clear. To ice the cake, she is fitted with a fully adjustable Lyman 21 rear sight. This is about the only receiver sight that can actually add value to a lever gun, and this one works great and features a dual aperture. After 1900, Winchester began to discourage special orders, and round barrels were more common than octagonal. Deluxe 1892 models are hard to find, and always bring top dollar. If you have been looking for the right Winchester 1892 to collect or for investment, but want the clout of a special order deluxe, then look no further.
