Description:
Bill Bagwell one of a kind Bowie bearing the extremely rare "B" stamping was made in 1965,(this is the only knife Bill ever produced at the College) when Bill's reputation as a scholar of buckskinning began while enrolled at Louisiana Tech and Northwestern College in Natchitoches, LA., where he majored in English literature and history. The 7 1/8-inch clipped point, single edged, brightly polished blade  based on old Sheffield style knives with grind lines and bevels by 1 5/8-inch at thickest point from 3/16-inch 1040 carbon steel stock, with an overall length of knife 11 7-8-inches, was entirely hand-forged, ground, tempered and completed at the College. Original edge still on the knife. Handle was taken from a Caribou antler the only time Bill ever used such material. The knife was further embellished with a plain "brass ferrule" and a fancy file work done on the brass collar, while Bill fashioned a large brass lugged guard. Knife is in an immaculate, pristine, brand new condition. The original brown leather scabbard is ink-stamped  with CUSTOM KNIVES  by W.P. Bagwell on the back as Bill did not have yet a stamp-made logo bearing his name to be used. (Note: The letter "E"  has faded over the years, as only the bottom of such remaining letter is visible, while a fraction of the "V" is "missing.") However, this is the original leather scabbard that Bill made for that particular knife. This knife comes with the impossible to locate today French knife publication "La Passsion Des Couteaux," ijn which this model can be seen as it is the one you're getting. The scarcity for this model relies on the fact that Bill only made one knife during his stay at the Collage and there are less known knives today bearing this extremely rare marking in the form of a "B". Used from 1965 to 1969 only. This  is the only Bowie in existence that has "survived" known to myself.   This Bowie-type knife holds historical significance as it is the only one that has been located with the " B " logo. The scarce and impossible to locate original French knife publication magazine  " La Passion Des Couteaux "  depicting this particular model is included. For the "True" Bill Bagwell fans and aficionados considered by his peers as being " Master of Combat Blades."  I was able to locate a copy of such magazine in France, as you can see it cost over 56 EUROS to send it as vouched by the French post office stamped envelope and cost to the U.S.A ( $70.50!).

Knife will be sold "AS IS." I do not engage in any type of trading. Thank you.
