This Remington Model 1100 Sporting 28 Gauge shotgun was bought new by the previous owner and put up into storage, never fired or carried afield. As it sits now it is a beautiful shotgun and rates 98%, and if not for some humidity issues in the storage room it would rate 100% like-new. The Remington 1100 Sporting model shotgun was introduced in 1996 as the firm's "deluxe" 1100 model. It featured a high gloss factory blue finish with a gold trigger, a ventilated rib barrel with a mid-bead and extended choke tubes by Briley, and a high gloss checkered deluxe Walnut stock set with a factory installed Remington-branded recoil pad. Priced at over $1250 when new, this model was more than double the price of the standard 1100 at this time. This 1999 production Remington 1100 Sporting 28 gauge shotgun has a 27" inch barrel and is 100% original. The original gloss blue finish is really beautiful, and outside of some small speckling on the barrel and a few tiny specs on the receiver is nearly perfect. As you can see in the pictures, the loading lever on the bottom of the receiver is pristine, never having been loaded. The bore is mirror-bright and spotless, with no pitting, bulges, dents, or imperfections of any kind. The original gloss-finished checkered deluxe Walnut stock set rates 99%, free from any wear, cracks, chips, or repairs. You have to look extremely close to find anything justifies the 1% deduction. The high grade Walnut is particularly attractive on this 1100 Sporting with lots of beautiful figure and contrasting grain in both the forearm and buttstock. The factory gloss clearcoat gives it almost a 3-D look to it. All of the controls on this Remington are 100% like the day it left the factory. The internals are just as clean and free from wear as the exterior, including a pristine bolt face. This Remington 1100 Sporting comes with one of the original tubes installed, the "Improved Cylinder" extended Briley choke. The original box, manual, and remaining choke tubes were lost along the way. If you have been looking for a 28 gauge shotgun for yourself, wife, or kids, this Remington would be the perfect choice. Reliable, well-balanced, and virtually zero felt recoil make this 28 gauge autoloader a superior field or sporting clays gun, while the beautiful finish and wood on this Remington will make you proud to carry it!
