This Carbine was manufactured by the Inland Division of General Motors, in Dayton, Ohio, in 1945. This M2 is a registered receiver M2 Carbine as manufactured in 1945. This Carbine was registered during the only NFA Amnesty in U.S. history in September 1968 by a Deputy Sheriff in Mississippi. This M2 Carbine was acquired by the Sheriff’s Department from the US Government after WWII. A copy of the Amnesty paperwork will be included in the sale. The barrel on this M2 Carbine is an Inland, dated 2-45. The receiver ring features a hand-stamped offset “2” in “M2” of “U.S. CARBINE CAL. .30 M2,” which is expected in this serial number range. The Trigger housing is an Inland, Hammer HI, Early Inland disconnector block marked PI, Slide marked PI, Front sight R, Milled rear sight. Selector switch marked HI and “A”.
