Description:
Built in 1955 on the five screw N-frame this special order Pre Model 23 aka 38/44 Outdoorsman is equipped with a 6 1/2” barrel, special order original bright blue finish with checkered walnut diamond magna grips. The vast majority of post war 38/44's are a satin blue finish, the bright blue finish was a special order only option.
An outstanding example of the model that comes in a very fine gold picture box with the Helpful Hints brochure. The gun retains 99% of the original special ordered bright blue finish and shows only the faintest of collector type handling evidence. A high condition N-frame for any S&W collector!
