Description:
Randall Model # 14 Attack 7-1/2" blade, double German silver guard, wrist thong. There are two  large "M P"  letters etched into the inside right of the guard that could stands for Micarta Prototype. The scarce used material came from a Westinghouse solid sheet (no longer available for decades). Knife was made in 1986. Comes with an extremely rare Sullivan brown rough back riveted scabbard in the most immaculate, pristine condition (before the transition from Maurice Johnson and Sullivan Leatherwork made by Gutcher occurred in 1988). The front retaining keeper strap snaps were never installed by the sheath maker, therefore they are included with the sheath and comes separately. The actual keeper strap is very stiff and held upright, and this is exactly how the knife and scabbard was received. Also the two rivets seen at the top are made from cooper while the others throughout the sheath are made from brass. The handle was shaped with a single grip,(incidentally it was originally known as Dave Griffin's handle who was back then Randall's shop foreman (deceased) whom was responsible for designing and introducing this newly created handle style. The chances to find today a Sullivan rough back riveted scabbard are slim to none.It is a beauty of a Randall Made Knife and a true rarity. Thanks for looking.
Note: As vouched in the shown pictures, none of the rivets on the back of the scabbard are broken, which looks like a star-like ones, as it is mostly the case when a riveted scabbard is offered with any military-style models, making it an extremely rare and most desirable find .
