Description:

Antique WINCHESTER Mod 1885 LOW WALL In .22 Long

Winchester’s First Single Shot Rifle Made in 1890

Here we present an antique Winchester Model 1885 Low Wall Rifle, chambered in .22 Long, made in 1890 in New Haven, Connecticut. Ironically, this was Winchester’s first single shot rifle, the company having been founded on its winning lever action repeater design. John Moses Browning, the famed gun designer who forever changed the firearms landscape, began his career with this rifle in the 19th Century before dominating the world scene in the 20th Century.

The top of the barrel is marked “MANUFACTURED BY THE/WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN CONN. U.S.A.”. The rear of the barrel is marked “22 LONG.

The overall condition is fine. The blue finish is 85%. The markings are clear. The stock shows handling but remains smooth and solid. The bore is in good shape, clean with visible rifling. The action is excellent. Here is a dandy 1885 Low Wall by John Browning!

Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.

Barrel is 24 ¼ inch octagon.

Caliber: .22 Long
