Daniel Lefever, founder of Lefever Arms, is most notably known for the first automatic hammerless shotgun, as well as the patent owner for the first automatic ejector system. This technology was outfitted to this Lefever Nitro Special and still stands up to today's technology. It's in fair shape as far as the metal is concerned, with finish wear on the receiver and dings on the barrel in various spots. The wood stock and forend are fair, with marks and dings on both pieces. The bore is in very good condition, with striation present, but overall clean and smooth. This Nitro Special was made in 1927 by Ithaca after the two companies merged. Barrel, receiver, and forend serial numbers all match.
