Description:
This is a beautiful all-matching and all-original Argentine Model 1909 Mauser military rifle made by the DWM firm in Germany with an intact Argentine crest.  Every single part including the cleaning rod matches except for the original brass muzzle cover that comes with it (pictured in last picture).  Made from 1909 to 1912 for the Argentine Military by Deutsche Waffen und Munitions Fabriken in Berlin, there were approximately 160,000 manufactured in total.  These military rifles display beautiful commercial quality finishes and expert fit and finish.  These bolt action repeaters are chambered in the 7.65mm Argentine cartridge with a 5-round capacity and a 29.13" inch barrel.  The receiver and bolt were left in the white and polished, with the balance of the rifle blued from the factory.  The factory Walnut stock uses a two barrel band arrangement and a 1-piece handguard that surrounds the rear sight.  As mentioned in the title, this rifle is beautiful.  The original blue finish still looks bright and attractive and rates 95%+ with the deductions coming from minor handling/storage marks in the finish.  The barrel has a perfect and bright bore with sharp rifling.  The import mark is the early type in tiny letters on the bottom of the barrel rather than the receiver.  The cleaning rod hides the import stamp and if you didn't know it was there it is likely you would miss it altogether.  The receiver and bolt "in the white" are in superb shape, with no staining or corrosion  and a perfect fully intact Argentine crest.  Many of these Model 1909's have the crest ground off per the rules of the Argentine government after 1930.  The original matching stock is in excellent shape as well.  The original cartouches are still visible and it is free from any cracks, chips, or repairs.  As you can see in the pictures, the stock shows only some minor handling/storage marks and nothing that detracts much from the clean look of this rifle.  This 1909 Argentine comes with an original brass muzzle cover that is period correct but not numbered to the gun.  This Model 1909 Argentine Mauser is 100% functional and all of the controls are in perfect working order.  Also available and pictured with the rifle is a Model 1891 Argentine bayonet and scabbard that fits this rifle.  The scabbard and blade are numbers matching but the crest is ground on the bayonet.  This bayonet can be purchased for an additional $60. If you have been looking for an exceptional 1909 Argentine for your collection here is your chance to get to a superb all-original example.
