Description:
1st Generation Colt Single Action Army chambered in .38 Special. This revolver was manufactured in 1917 and features nickel finish, 5-1/2" barrel and factory Colt hard rubber grips. This neat little single action has been expertly refinished and rebuilt with a replacement Colt cylinder and barrel. The work was more than likely done in the 1950's or 1960's by the look of the nickel finish and replacement parts. The revolver is in excellent mechanical condition, and the action locks up as tight as any Single Action Army I have ever handled. The action is very smooth and in perfect time. There is zero cylinder shake/play front to back or side to side and the gap between the cylinder and forcing cone is very tight (<.005"). The work on this revolver shows a high level of craftsmanship and it would make an excellent shooter. The single action frame is clean and would make a good base for a restoration project or a custom cowboy action rig in a different caliber.
