Description:
Developed for the needs of a very solid, yet, smaller knife with a 3-1/8" blade the ROCROY is a general purpose model that is easily carried. Based on the MEZIERES,(not shown) while preserving its thickness; it was christened by the name of ROCROY, in memory of the 350th Anniversary of the Battle of Rocroy (1643) which was the first victory of Louis XIV against the Spanish. It comes with a single brass guard , black micarta handle with a matching brass buttcap with wrist thong and it is a hidden tang constructed model. Note: During the last Rally Raid for the 2002 World Cup in Tunisia, (Paris-Dakkar) under the sponsorship of OPTIC 2000, a Swedish biker broke his leg. The race's emergency doctor Olivier Crasquin pulls out this knife,( a Rocroy, the smallest of all the knives made by Jean Tanazaq) of his 4X4, and opens the boot all the way lengthwise without a hit, under the fearful and amazed eyes of the biker! The ROCROY is also the need for a very small knife, yet, very solid as an general purpose knife, easy to carry, including into a woman's handbag, was felt when a customer and his wife, during a fishing trip in the Yukon without the support of anyanization got out of harm's way using this model.
