Winchester Model 70 Varmint made in 1956. Serial number 393278. One of less than 900 made in this model!
Chambered in .243 with Stainless 26" barrel. It is fitted with the upgraded steel buttplate. This model would be standard with a hard rubber plate. It is fitted with a 16x J. Unertl scope.
The rifle is in overall Very good condition. Metal finishes are near perfect with the only notable bluing loss being ont he bolt handle. The stock is beautiful and much more figured than normally found on model 70s from this period. There are various dents and marks in the wood from use. There is a hairline crack in the crain from climate aclimation ont he right side at the buttplate. The scope is in excellent condition and includes both threaded steel caps.
