COLT Government Model 1911-A1 "N.Y.N.G." Pistol, serial # 247xx4-C, cal. 45 ACP, the right side of slide is factory rollmarked "PROPERTY OF THE SATE OF NEW YORK". has a 5" barrel with a very good bright bore. Pistol retains 98% original finish with just a slight finish loss at the tip of slide where it goes into holster. This pistol has a wide serrated ramp front sight, Flat top rear sight with square notch, Flat side checkered hammer polished on sides, Long tang grip safety, Mainspring housing is serrated w/out lanyard loop, Series 70 type thumb safety, Mag. catch, trigger, thumb safety & slide stop all serrated, Checkered recoil spring plug. Upper trigger guard bow left shows verified proof & "O" inspector mark. Right side trigger guard bow shows partial "A". Stocks are 1950s type plastic w/ rampant Colt in escutcheon. Right stock shows very minor wear, Left stock shows a crack through bottom stock screw to the front of the grip. Comes with a COLT marked "COLT 45 AUTO" magazine. Note: There were 250 of these pistol delivered to the N.Y. NATIONAL GUARD on December 16, 1950. They were ordered to replace pistols recalled by the US ARMY for use in the KOREAN WAR. These pistols fall in the serial range of 246799-C to 247464-C. and since they only made 250 total, these pistols are even more rare than the SINGER 1911-A1 pistols. This scarce 1911 variant pistols overall condition as photographed and described is very good plus to very good plus plus you'll look a long time before you find another for sale. Inv.: # 1-1354
