Description:
This is a Winchester model 1911 12ga. semi automatic shotgun built in 1913. This is a design simalar to the first Remington and Browning auto loaders of the day. These were refered to as the widow maker model, in reference to the way the first round was chambered, as you would pull back on the knurled section of the barrel to open the chamber, load a round, and cock the action. This is a take down gun, by means of a thumb screw behind the receiver, which is very similar to the rifle versions like the model 1903-1910. These butt stocks were made of 3 pieces of wood that were laminated together, and quite often seperated, which was the case with this gun. I had it professionally repaired, and it turned out great. The bore of the 28" full choke barrel is in excellent shape.  The overall original condition of the metal would rate 85% or better, which is uncommon for these guns, as the blueing would wear off the receiver easily. The butt plate looks great, with no sign of hard use or abuse. This is a hard one to find in any condition, let alone one in this shape. Great addition to complete your collection of all the original Winchester self loaders.  $525 plus $45 S&I by Postal Money Order to lower 48.
