This is an excellent all-original example of a Norinco SKS Model M that uses standard detachable AK-47 magazines made in 1993. The Norinco Model M is essentially a blend of the best attributes from the SKS and the AK-47. The SKS Model M uses the rock-solid, reliable, and more accurate SKS action and gas system combined with a 16.5" inch AK barrel length and the ability to use detachable AK magazines. This gives you the ability to use a 5 round mag, a 30-rd mag, or even a 50 or 100 round drum. The Norinco Model M was only imported for a short time in the early 1990's, and most of the M's that you will encounter have a thumbhole-style stock rather than the sought-after pistol grip stock like this one. This Norinco has a beautiful commercial quality blue finish on the metal parts and features a hardwood pistol-grip style factory stock as mentioned previously. The blue finish on this carbine is in excellent condition overall and only shows a few tiny handling marks and a little very minor speckling on the top cover. As you can see from the pictures, the gun has a beautiful and clean look to it. The chrome-lined bore in this Norinco is perfect, free from any imperfections and mirror-bright with sharp rifling. The original stock is in excellent condition overall as well, with only some very minor handling marks visible only under close inspection. All of the factory stock hardware is intact and in great shape, including the factory-installed recoil pad. This Model M SKS has obviously lived a very easy life and has been well-cared for. From what we can tell the internals are just as clean as the exterior and show no mechanical wear. All of the controls are in perfect working order and the bolt closes into battery with authority. This Norinco should be just as reliable and accurate today as the day it was shipped into the States in 1993. This Model M comes with the original Chinese Militarysling and 5-round AK magazine that it originally shipped with. If you have been looking for a unique and collectible SKS for your gun collection this Norinco would be an excellent choice. These SKS Model M Carbines are truly the "ultimate" SKS and should continue to be excellent long-term investments.
