In 2008 famous gun writer Craig Boddington, teamed up with Ruger Arms and developed a series of 5 calibers that Craig felt were the best cartridges for Africa. The rifle to be sponsors by Ruger would be their famous Ruger # 1
all 5 guns came in different configurations and all of the Boddington guns are quite unique to the Ruger # 1 family.
Ruger went to the expense of finding cercssian walnut, the checkering pattern is also unique to the Boddington guns and the metal finish is matte finish.The Ruger box is also unique as each gun is represented by the appropriate animal, { see the pictures }. The rings are unique as well, they are quick disconnect rings by Varne.{ see picture }
there were at most 200 guns of each caliber manufactured by Ruger and each gun was presented every 6 months. The serial numbers are also unique to the Ruger # 1.
This gun is the fifth or last gun of the series " The Elephant ".I believe the most rare of the calibers, it is the 450 3 1/4 Nitro Express. { you won't find this on the shelf of your local Walmant }
Obviously, as you can see the gun is absolutely new in the box.
