Description:
NEW PRICE "Just found the itemized list of work done and  pricing($2400.00) from C.T Brian, See Photos." My asking price is less then it would cost to replicate the customizing work alone with today's values..............This gun has been in my family for 40 yrs. My dad bought it new and had it customized by the revered Tim of C.T.Brian. I don't believe the gun was ever fired after the customizing was done, but can't swear to that. My dad was an avid shotgun trap shooter and enjoyed the competition part of it. Going to an indoor range to shoot by himself wasn't his thing, but he may have tested a few rounds through it after getting it back from Tim, I just don't know. I do know it hasn't been taken out of the heated gun safe for at least 20 yrs. It should go to someone who appreciates it's beauty and history. Below is recent email correspondence between myself and Tim, stating work done and value. Call lets make a deal, Jason 909-809-9911

Subject: Older Custom C.T. Brian Build

   Hello Tim,
Looking for some info on a gun. My father Edwin Axxxxxxxx  passed away 16 yrs ago. I inherited his extensive collection of guns. One of them is a beautiful customized Colt Government Mark IV Series 70 5" S# 14495B70, made between 79-81 that has your stamped name under the S#. Has extra springs I assume are stock items. Not sure if he purchased the gun already customized or if he had commissioned it through you directly.  Is there any possibility you may have some history of what work was done, if it was test fired after work was completed, and any added value to the gun. Blue Book of Gun Values says it has a stock value, if 100%, of $1450 for Blue finish and $1800 for Nickel Finish. Photos attached. Any info would be great. Thank you for your time on this.

Jason

Hi Jason,

I do remember building a full house custom for your father.  By full house custom, I mean all the bells and whistles.  I’m currently in the middle of relocating my shop to Casper, Wyoming and as such, all of my files etc are in transit or locked away and I can’t access them.

That said, from looking at the pictures, the time frame you gave is consistent with my customs of that era.  All of my customs are test fired before the final finish is applied, in this case a blued upper and hard chromed lower.  As a full house custom from that era built on a new Series 70 Colt, I would put a value on it of $4000 - $5000.

Hope this helps.

Best, Tim
