RARE: VINTAGE Smith & Wesson Model: The CENTENNIAL AIRWEIGHT "Pre-Model 42" FLAT LATCH 4-SCREW (with small lock screw on upper sideplate screw, only found on early production models)~ UNFIRED NEW IN ORIGINAL BOX! EARLYSerial Number: 10023 Caliber: .38 Special ~ Action Type: Double Action Only Revolver Swing Out Cylinder, Hand Ejector, & Grip Safety .: The left side of the barrel is marked "SMITH & WESSON". The left side of the frame has Smith & Wesson's monogram logo. The right side of the barrel is marked "AIRWEIGHT / 38 SPL. CTG.". The right side of the frame has the four line marcas registradas address. The crane cut is marked " 20015 R" and the crane is marked "20015 R". The bottom of the grip frame is marked with the serial number 10023. Barrel Length: 1 7/8” Pinned Barrel Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramp integral to the tapered rib. The rear sight is a square notch in a round channel integral to the frame. Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are smooth high-horned wood. The grips are well fit to the frame with no chips or cracks. The grips rate Excellent overall condition. Type of Finish: Blue barrel and cylinder, case-color trigger, and black frame. Finish Originality: Factory Original Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. Included is original wax paper & FACTORY ORIGINAL transitional Blue box with Red metal 4-ring corners! Box is firm in very good condition, with some edge wear, no tears or breaks, no rust on corners , serial # is written on bottom of box in white grease pencil Label Marking: Smith & Wesson 38 CENTENNIAL AIRWEIGHT~Blued~round butt~2 inch, Lighter stamped in red accross label is CHIEF HAMMERLESS, Other side of box is marked just S&W in large letters.
