Description:
20 ga. 3 inch American Arms Derby with 3 inch chambers, made by Zabala Hermanos. Straight English style stock with long tang. Tang and trigger guard are blued and have light engraving on them.
Little used with only some wear marks on the checkered butt, and a single mark on the forearm which you should be able to see in the photo. Stock is near to perfect.
Engraving is hand done by Zabala Hermanos, and the trigger is gold, single non-selective. Auto ejectors as do all of these Derby models to my knowledge. 3 inch chambers if you need to reach out and shoot wild pheasants....
Barrels are 26 inches, and choked skeet and improved, done by Mike Orlen, making it a perfect bird gun. No sling swivels on it as it was made for the American market and imported by American Arms. Weight is 6.8 lbs., not too heavy, not too light; just right to carry for a day in the field and still handle the recoil of 3 inch shells if you're prone to use those.
At full price I'll include a Leg 0' Mutton solid leather case that fits this gun nicely with all buckles intact and functioning. It has a new carrying strap and all the stitching is intact; more photos on request
These Derby models are the ones sold by Bill Hanus of Birdguns, made by traditional Basque gunmakers. I still use a 28 ga. Derby I got from him of which this is a matching sibiling.
Selling this lovely little bird gun as I succumbed to a Rizzini made Abercrombie and Fitch 20 ga. and this just won't get any use anymore, sadly.
