Antique ALLEN & WHEELOCK Pistol from WORCESTER, MA
Single Shot Pistol Made Circa the 1840s
Here we present an antique Allen & Wheelock Percussion Pistol in .36 Caliber, made circa 1840 in Worcester, Massachusetts. This was designed to be a very simple and slender conceal and carry, self-defense pistol in the turbulent 19th Century. It features a single action mechanism.
The overall condition is fair. The metal surfaces have a gray patina. The markings are clear and legible. The walnut grips are in good shape. The bore is dark with heavy oxidation. The action on this pistol is nonfunctioning as the hammer will not hold the cock notch.
