Description: RARE: VINTAGE Smith & Wesson Model: The CHIEF SPECIAL HAMMERLESS "Pre-Model " FLAT LATCH 4-SCREW UNFIRED NEW IN ORIGINAL BOX! EARLY Serial Number: 5074 Caliber: .38 S&W Special ~ Action Type: Double Action Only Revolver Swing Out Cylinder, Hand Ejector, & Squeeze Grip Safety .: The left side of the barrel is marked "SMITH & WESSON". The left side of the frame has Smith & Wesson's monogram logo. The right side of the barrel is marked "38 S&W SPL". The right side of the frame has the four line marcas registradas address. The crane cut is marked " 47911 O" and the crane is marked "47911 O". The bottom of the grip frame as well as the front of the cylinder is marked with the serial number 5074. Barrel Length: 1 7/8” Pinned Barrel Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramp integral to the tapered rib. The rear sight is a square notch in a round channel integral to the frame. Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are smooth high-horned wood. The grips are serialized to the gun & well fit to the frame with no chips or cracks. The grips rate Excellent overall condition. Type of Finish: Blue barrel and cylinder, case-color serrated trigger, and blued frame. Finish Originality: Factory Original Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. Included: is original wax paper & FACTORY ORIGINAL Blue box with blue metal 4-ring corners. Box is firm in very good condition, with storage edge wear, no tears or breaks, no rust on corners , Label Marking: Smith & Wesson blued, 2 inch barrel, & serial no.
