Antique LONG-BARRELED STEVENS .22 “Pocket Rifle”
With Matching Shoulder Stock!
Here we present an antique J. Stevens & Company Pocket Rifle, manufactured circa 1880 in Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts. About 8,000 of these rifles were produced between 1875 and 1896. This pistol was considered one of the most accurate target pistols of the day and comes with the original attachable wire stock. It features am 18-inch bull barrel and a weighted pommel for balance. There is also a spur for the middle finger on the trigger guard. The action is single action only with a crisp trigger.
The left side of the barrel is marked “J.STEVENS A & T CO.CHICOPEE/FALLS MASS.PAT.SEPT.6.1864”.
The overall condition is good. The nickel finish is 90%. Barrel has a dark patina. The markings are clear. The numbers match, including the wire stock. The bore is dark with visible rifling. The action is strong. Here is a neat little “Pocket Rifle”!
