Full custom Mauser in .257 Roberts by Dave Caboth previously of Anchorage, Alaska and now of Alta, Iowa. 24" barrel with custom island front and rear sights in the English style with one standing and one folding leaves on the rear. English style barrel sling eye. Oberndorf Mauser reciever that is case colored with Mauser flag safety and Oberndorf style bolt handle. Never drilled and tapped. Custom contoured and checkered bolt release. FN commercial bottom metal with button release. Timney fully adjustable trigger. Stocked in well figured English Walnut in the English style with pancake cheekpiece, steel pistol grip cap, and ebony forend tip. Point pattern checkering by Gary Goudy with mullered border that wraps the forend. 14 1/4" LOP over a 1/2" Decelerator pad. 7lb 7oz
Mr. Caboth is a master gunbuilder but no longer working in the trade. He is a graduate of the Colorado School of Trades and taught there for several years. He was involved in stock design for both Dakota and Hein. This English style stalking rifle remains new from the maker. Design, machining, and inletting are flawless.
