A well loved 1917 Erfurt Police Rework. found in an estate of the late owner, this gun was brought back in WWII and has stayed in the family ever since. Made in the "Royal Rifle Factory of the Arsenal. The Reichs Police or Reichs- Gendarmerie, (RG) was a special police unit within the imperial Reich of Germany. The proof is stamped on the right side behind the barrel along with all the other standard proofs and above the others is the "CROWN OVER RG" Denoting the police unit. Stamped on many of the pistol parts as well. Starting out as a standard army marked 1917 Erfurt Luger P08. They made these from 1911 to 1918. This rework is an ALL MATCHING SERIAL NUMBERS! Number 1974 makes it easy to remember showing a bright shiny bore, no rust or pitting anywhere. These reworks were hot blued and returned to the field, this is why you see the blued parts that should be straw color, trigger, mag release, etc. The grips are newer replacements. A black unmarked P08 holster is included. Overall this is a very rare Luger and the lack of finish at 50%-60% doesn't help but it doesn't hurt as bad as it used to. Correct police aluminum, plated magazine stamped #2 (nonmatching to the gun) Please contact me with ANY questions you may have or if you would like a specific area or item photographed.
