FOR SALE: A 1970s Western Field M550ABD Pump Shotgun w/C-Lect Choke and 28" barrel length. The Western Field name was a Montgomery Ward brand name. The M550 is "model 550"....it's a Mossy 500 or an "M500" so to speak. The A means it's a 12gauge. A 500AB is a 12ga 500 with a jeweled bolt and lifter (another Sears or Wards model) etc..
Contrary to some stories you might hear, store branded guns are *never* lesser quality than name brand nor are they made up of inferior/seconds parts. That crap has been going around since Walmart started undercutting everyone on prices. Folks tried to claim that they sold inferior grades of guns to get them that low when it was mass marketing that did it. Store branded guns, in almost all cases, are *better* than name branded guns.
All Mossberg 500 parts will fit your gun as long as it's the same gauge and the action bars are the same. Some older guns were single bar forearms where all later guns are double.
The C-Lect choke design allows the user to change setting with a twist of the choke body located at the end of the barrel. It has been function tested and works perfectly.
