General Specs: Fox, Year 1927, 12 Gauge, 8lbs 10oz, Chokes XF/XF, LOP 14 1/4", DAH 2 3/8", DAC 1 9/16"
Serial Number: 32545

Those interested in long range shooting likely know of the Fox HE Grade or "SUPER FOX", the most capable long-range gun made in the world!  There is a strong interest in these guns, made so by famous outdoor writer Nash Buckingham in the late 1920's and in all the stories written since.  There were only about 950 of these guns manufactured, and most have been altered in ways that destroy their function and value, so an unmolested Super Fox is a rare find.  The Super Fox performance is entirely dependent on the combination of the over-bored barrels, precise chambers, and special, long tapered chokes, all finely tuned by the famous barrel guru Bert Becker.  This Super Fox, sn32545 shipped in 1927, has 32” barrels with factory 3” chambers, showing the correct .739 and .740 bore diameter and 5” chokes tapering to a .051 constriction (R) and .052 constriction (L).  The factory 3” chamber has not been altered.  THE CHAMBERS, BORES, AND CHOKES HAVE NOT BEEN ALTERED SINCE LEAVING THE FACTORY IN 1927.  Like most waterfowling guns, this Super Fox was used, but also well maintained, as it retains over 45% factory case color, 92% factory barrel blue, 90% factory trigger guard blue, near perfect screws, mirror shiny bores, no dents or dings, barrels tight on the hinge pin and breech face like a new gun, ejectors are super strong and well timed, mechanics are excellent.  THIS IS A VFI CERTIFIED GUN WITH A 90 DAY MECHANICAL WARRANTY, the action and forend iron mechanisms having been stripped to the smallest parts, cleaned in the Ultrasonic cleaner, all parts inspected for function and integrity, properly lubricated and reassembled (a $275 service).  The factory wood has very modern stock dimensions (see specs below), no cracks or repairs to the factory length wood that still retains the original finish, with superb checkering, and customary handling marks on the barrels and wood.  Most HE Super Fox guns have plain jane American walnut chosen for its strength.  This gun has nicely figured English walnut with nice, strong straight grain through the wrist, making it a much more handsome Super Fox than you usually see.  We are planning on restoring the wood on this HE Super Fox while it is listed for sale, with a hand-rubbed oil finish within 6 weeks.  Call immediately if you prefer the wood in its natural condition as seen in the photos and save $350 off the price.  THIS IS AN AMAZING FIND AS THESE GUNS ARE ALMOST ALWAYS ALTERED, USED HARD, AND LACK THE ORIGINAL CONDITION YOU SEE IN THIS GUN. The Super Fox is in such hot demand and the prices have risen so sharply as a result this gun will go fast.  Don’t hesitate or it will be gone!  Thanks for looking at our fine guns.
