Shipping is actual cost with a minimum of $30.00 for pistols and $50.00 for rifles/shotguns to ship to most of the 48 contiguous states. Shipping to Alaska may require an extra fee. Description:
This is perhaps one of Smith & Wesson’s most important models. The 629 was intended to allow the shooter to have a revolver that had far better resistance to rust and wear than the original carbon-steel Model 29. This is an early-2000’s Model 629 Classic DX variation. Features included are a square butt frame, 6.5-inch full-lug barrel, .400-inch smooth target trigger, .500-inch serrated target hammer, red ramp front sight insert, and white outline on the rear sight blade. It comes with a nice set of checkered wood grips. The Model 629 has been used for everything from hunting to target shooting. It has also been used by law enforcement, although never on an “as issue” basis. Despite the heavy powder burns on the front of the cylinder, the bore is extremely clean. There are a few wear marks on the cylinder and the barrel, but the Classic DX was not intended to be a collector’s gun. In fact, all of the Classic Series revolvers were intended to be an affordable replacement for the increasingly expensive older versions such as the 25, 27-2, 29-2, M1917, 629 No Dash – all of which have gone up in value in the past decade due to collectability. The Classic DX can be used for target shooting, plinking, and even hunting.
