The maker was Franz Jeager of Suhl who designed the action exclusively for the new .22 Hornet and patented it. This particular rifle is serial # 2 and is the varmit version which has a heavier forearm than Serial #1 which was the sporter version with a slimmer forearm and horn nose cap. This rifle is featured in the German Gun Collectors Waidmannsheil Journal on Prussian made Charle Daly guns. They only have come across around a dozen of these rifles in the US. The rifle was not a success due to the high cost of such guns after the ression and was dropped. This rifle was offered with either a williams side mount peep sight or a 2 3/4 power Ziel Dialyt scope on a Jaeger patent side quick release mount. The magazine is a unique drop plate which has an intigrated 5 shell clip attached. Rifle is all original , metal is 100% with untouched original wood with just a couple of very light handling marks.
