Description:
This is as fine a German hammer shot gun you will find. G L Rausch made and retailed high end guns from the mid 1800's to 1938. Their guns are know for the quality of materials and engravings. This double 16 gauge back action lock started out as a combination gun , right barrel rifle and left barrel shotgun but some where along it's history the combination barrels were lost and the action was fitted with new shot gun barrels and the gun restored. You can tell this by the fact it has a set trigger for the right barrel and the face of the action has the imprint of a smaller case of the rifle. The barrels are not original black powder era as the gun and have the name of the retailer on the Rib who possibly restored the gun and sold it in Germany. Possibly this gun was bought by a GI after the war and restored for him, we will never know.  The locks have rebounding hammers and the set trigger does work. This is a very light weight shotgun that can be carried all day and should be used even as nice as it is. Pictures show what it is and it is even better in person. professional older restoration  with all finish 100 %. A small repair to a crack was done to the stock under the locks properly pined and is hard to see.  Comes in a canvas covered case. Alot of gun for $4000.
