Description:
Colt mold .64 cal. This piece is marked "Colts Patent" on the sprue cutter, with some light pitting. The iron retains 50% of its grey-blue original finish. The interior retains most of its original blue and appears to have had little use. The handles are all original with the brass ferrule, the ends are counter sunk but the wood plug on the left is missing and there is a glued repair. There are a few gash marks on the left side of the mold and the top end of the cutter. A very scarce mold for the .64 Caliber Military Rifled musket. See Rapley's book, "Colt Accouterments"pg. 259 #M41.
