U.S. Model 1840 Cavalry saber. Ricasso is marked “N.P. Ames Cabotville 1847”. Blade is very good with one minor nick. Leather and wire wrap are very good. Scabbard has a brown and gray patina. Very good overall condition Mexican-American War era cavalry saber.
