Description:
Offered for sale here is a factory engraved short barreled ,45 Colt 1st Gen FE SAA that is as honest as they get. Used, but not abused. It is obvious that this single action was carried and used. All wear is nice and honest. SN 130,729, .45/c, barrel length not listed, nickel, rubber, factory engraved shipped on November 3, 1889 to Simmons Hardware. All of the engraving detail remains. More wear on the left, and less on the right.
The barrel address is light but readable, and the patent dates and caliber marking on the trigger guard are still strong. Matching serial numbers on the frame, triggerguard and backstrap.
Pre-1890 FE short barrel .45's with a thick set of yellow antique MOP grips in original condition are getting more difficult to find. Has all 4 clicks. Second notch holds, but not if trigger is pulled. Spots of original nickel remain at the front sight, hammer, under the barrel, sight channel and on the butt strap. Just a nice, honest FE short barrel .45 at a reasonable price.
