Description:
A fine Prussian Charles Day 12 ga. 2 1/2" chamber sxs shotgun. Lightly restored from a "Closet Queen" stored in a gun case. When cleaned, most of the barrel finish was gone( 20% left) so I hand rust blued the barrels as there was NO rust or pits. Wood was heat crazed from storage and yellowed so I hand-rubbed oil finish of 10 coats rubbed in. Made by J.P. Sauer with Krupp steel barrels NOT "TWIST" OR "LAMINATED" with shiny bores around the turn of the century approximately 1904. 26" imp cylinder on both barrels make this a great upland bird gun at just under 6 pounds. Shooting the new Federal 13/4" 5/8 oz. shot in #8 has very light recoil shoots like a lite load 28ga.! 14" LOP over recoil pad. Strong and tight and all rebuilt. Shoots great with the new 1 3/4" shells and the 2 1/2" field loads are great to shoot. This gun books at $4700! Fjestad Blue Book # 40th Anniversary.
