Collectible Ammo: Winchester .30-40 (.30 Army), .25-35, UMC 7mm Mauser, Western .410 Super-X No. 4
One vintage box of Winchester .25-35. The box contains 20 pieces but not all correct. There's ten original Rem-UMC rounds, metal jacketed with exposed lead flat points and the original "U" marked primers. There's five of the original WRA rounds with the distinctive two-piece primer cups, one of which has the bullet pushed into the neck. Should come out with a kinetic-type bullet remover. There's one WRA round with an "S" marked primer and some corrosion on the case. There's three more WRA rounds that look original but have later-looking domed primers. And the last WRA round is probably one of the originals but has a heavily corroded primer and head. These are in a decent box with the 8-15 label date.
One full box of Winchester .30 Army Full Patch, K3041C, in excellent condition. The cases are headstamped "W.R.A. 30" and remain factory new, not tarnished. The label is dated 8-30. The box is nice and square, no wrinkles or tears or stains. The glue on the right side end and on the end flaps on the top half of the box has come apart. This is easily corrected with no sign of repair. The only detratction is a small bit of tape on the right rear corner of the top part.
One full box of UMC 7 mm Mauser, 175 gr metal cased bullet. The rounds remain excellent to about new condition, minus a narrow line of tarnish where they contacted the box. The box is intact but looks to have had some water damage. The top has a wrinkle.
20 rounds of Western Super-X .410, 3-inch, 3/4 ounce No. 4 shot. Nice clean shells with good labels and the bases only slightly darkened with age. In the bottom half of a 20-round box of the type rifle cartridges would be pacakged in. They fit perfectly but I suspect did not come in this box originally. There's no markings on the box and it would make a useful replacement.
There's one empty box of Winchester ".30 Army, Full Patch." The red label is dark and has a 5-14 date on one side of the top half. There's some old pencil-written notes on the back.
